At Pitt Stop, we believe photography has the power to do more than document moments, it can strengthen communities, celebrate people and help organisations create lasting impact.

Giving back is at the heart of our business.

Every year we dedicate over 1,000 volunteer hours and provide the equivalent of at least 20 days of pro bono professional photography support to charities and community organisations. Through photography, marketing and communications, we help organisations raise awareness, attract volunteers, engage supporters and tell the stories that matter most.

We are proud to support seven charities and voluntary organisations, including remaining on call as a volunteer photographer for Remember My Baby, providing families with precious memories during incredibly difficult times.

Our founder, Roo Pitt, also volunteers as a Community First Responder with the East of England Ambulance Service, bringing empathy, professionalism and calmness to every assignment.

Our commitment extends beyond photography. As Head of Photography for Norwich Pride, Roo leads a volunteer team responsible for documenting one of the region's largest celebrations of LGBTQIA+ communities, ensuring every individual feels welcomed, represented and comfortable in front of the camera. We are also proud members of the Norfolk ProHelp scheme, offering professional expertise to charities and voluntary organisations that need it most.

As Pitt Stop grows, so too does our commitment to social impact. Our pledge is to continue to donate at least 20 photography days each year to charitable causes, offer preferential rates to registered charities and community groups, support fundraising initiatives through photography, and provide communications, marketing and media advice to volunteer-led organisations. We also aim to mentor aspiring photographers and deliver workshops that help others develop their confidence and skills.

Sustainability is equally important to how we operate. We are a digital-first business, reducing unnecessary printing and paper waste wherever possible. Studio and event lighting primarily uses energy-efficient LED technology, while equipment is maintained to maximise its lifespan and minimise waste. When travelling, public transport is used wherever practical, and our fully electric vehicle is charged using home-generated solar energy or 100% renewable electricity. We also choose suppliers and accessories that share our environmental values, including purchasing B Corp-certified products where possible.
